Cycling Clubs and Organisations
While it is great getting out and about it is always better enjoying it with others. If you are new to the area, scene, or just want to explore new places then check out the following links to local clubs or organizations. They offer routes, group rides, friendship and more importantly the motivation to get out when our weather lets us down.
Road and Time Trial
These clubs offer something for everyone but do tend to have a bias towards sporty riding and competition. Most events are held in the summer months while weather and roads are suitable. However the clubs do hold winter events and offer the chance to meet like minded people to train with during the misery of a British winter.
Road and Touring / Leisure
For a more sociable ride with the emphasis on pure enjoyment for anyone check out the following links. These clubs offer the chance to ride in groups without the pressure and commitment of competition. With regular breaks and a generally steady pace the whole point of these rides are for riders to enjoy the experience of cycling. A hardy buch who will ride through the winter and summer alike.
National Cycling Organisations
These are organisations that hold and organise national and international events countrywide. They cover and govern all aspect of cycling including Road racing, Track cycling,Time trials, Mountain biking andCyclocross. They generally work quite closely with the sports international governing body, the UCI.
Triathlon 
If you want to explore the world of Triathalon but don’t know where to start then try one of the following clubs. They offer training tips and sessions to keep you on your toes. They all have regular training sessions and organise competitions.
MTB Mountain Biking 
While trail centres are a 1stop solution there are plenty of old school trails around if you know where to look. Moel Ffamu and Cilcain are one destination and the peaks above the Horseshoe Pass & the whole area around Llangollen another.
These trails can be hard to pickup and follow if you are only used to travelling way marked routes so checkout what these clubs/sites offer. OS maps 356 & 357 will be a great help.
