From the Workshop to the Cobblestones: Our Mechanic Lew Conquers the Paris-Roubaix Challenge

This past weekend, our very own mechanic Lew traded in his workbench for one of the toughest cycling events on the planet—the Paris-Roubaix Challenge. Known as the “Hell of the North,” this legendary ride spans brutal cobblestone sectors, rough terrain, and historic French roads that test even the most seasoned riders.

We’re thrilled to share that Lew not only completed the Paris-Roubaix Challenge—he did it with style and strength to spare.

A Ride Like No Other

The Paris-Roubaix is more than just a ride. It’s a rite of passage for cyclists, famous for its unforgiving pavé (that’s French for “those bone-rattling cobblestones”) and iconic finish at the Roubaix velodrome. Covering over 170 kilometers, including nearly 30km of cobbles, this is no ordinary weekend spin.

Lew tackled it aboard his trusted Giant Revolt Advanced 2—a gravel machine built to smooth out even the roughest terrain. The setup was dialed for comfort, control, and just the right amount of speed over the infamous cobblestone sectors.

Lew, who spends his weekdays fine-tuning bikes and getting customers road-ready, took on the challenge with the same precision and determination he brings to the shop.

“The cobbles were brutal, but it was worth every second,” Lew said after returning back to the workshop. “It’s a race that humbles you—but it also reminds you why you love cycling in the first place.”

From Mechanic to Machine

Whether he’s adjusting derailleurs or riding over Carrefour de l’Arbre, Lew embodies everything we love about cycling: passion, perseverance, and a deep love for the ride.

It’s not every day your bike mechanic becomes your cycling hero, but Lew’s ride through the heart of northern France proved just that. He’s now back at the shop—maybe with a few blisters and a lot of stories—but more fired up than ever to help fellow riders tackle their own challenges.
