Transiro Infinito R1 Knit is a high-performance triathlon shoe engineered with an innovative knitted upper for enhanced breathability. When designing this new premium shoe for triathletes competing at Ironman level, Fi'zi:k aimed to combine the stiff, race-oriented feel and perfect fit of their road shoes with a new design that allows for quick and easy foot entry at transition, as well as superb comfort for riding without socks.The Fi'zi:k Knit uppers used in the Transiro Infinito R1 Knit shoes are superior to traditional woven fabric or microfiber uppers. They are created using electronic knitting machines that accurately link loops of yarn on needles, allowing for seamless changes in the fabric's yarn direction to create different stitching patterns. This process produces distinct functional zones, including vents and mesh openings that enhance breathability. The additional water-repellent treatment ensures the yarn does not absorb moisture, and in combination with the enhanced ventilation, the upper dries quickly when slipping the shoes onto wet feet after T1.To guarantee efficient power transfer to the pedals, targeted areas of heat-fused PU have been integrated into the knit upper to provide foot support where athletes need it most. This construction ensures the shoes have superior ventilation and are ultra-lightweight, while still offering the same support and pedaling efficiency as traditionally built cycling shoes.The Transiro Infinito R1 Knit features a BOA powered volume control fit, which is quick and intuitive, while providing the locked-in feel that triathletes need for a 112-mile ride. The volume control system allows for differentiated fit adjustment in the instep and forefoot areas, which can vary widely between athletes. By controlling two separate BOA dial closures, triathletes can fine-tune the shoe fit to their unique foot shape for customized comfort and support. The plantar arch is also provided with a customized fit through the Dynamic Arch Support, a dedicated piece of the shoe's upper that wraps around the arch and is adjusted for fit using its own BOA dial.The highly stiff R1 unidirectional full carbon outsole of the Transiro Infinito R1 Knit is designed for maximum power transfer, with vent openings that channel airflow through the sole for efficient temperature control.
